We are fortunate to have the album "Apocalyptic Love" a week before its national release.
Here is our feeling song by song on the album:

Apocalyptic Love: (3:29)
The album starts strong with this groovy title at will. Guitar, Wah Wah thoroughly with an intro decorated with a riff that Slash alone has the secret. The rhythm is very typical Hard Rock AC / DC on the verse.
The chorus feels good California. Myles Kennedy posed by the base of a rock song that will be distilled. Small Slash solos between verse and chorus are just super pêchus.
Bridge in calm clean sound shows the softness of the voice of Myles and leads a solo with the wah very groovy that could be on the album "Ain ' t Life Grand "
opening song that feels the sun and apocalyptic omen for the best result.

One Last Thrill (3:10)
Intro that is reminiscent of songs from Guns glaucous; sirens sounding in the streets of Los Angeles, dark corners, loose women ... some chords, a fast tempo rock n 'roll, a song to Johnny Rotten is Myles ... a chameleon, he sings a completely different way on this song! This is certainly the most punk song "the musical sense.

Standing In The Sun : (4: 04)
Intro fade in on a riff that begins eerily reminiscent "Immigrant Song" with a groove in the "locomotive". The chorus is catchy and well put. The solo incorporates some interesting color. The outro is really well done with a guitar riff harmonized. The mid-tempo title breathes the sun.
The second single from the album definitely.

You ' re A Lie (3:51)
The single from the album. Intro with chords, rhythmic bass, little riff that recalls "Ghost" of the verse. Superb voice work of Todd Kerns and Myles Kennedy. Nice solo by Slash. The main riff is somewhat reminiscent of the big riffs of Velvet Revolver (Slither, She Builds Quick Machines)


No More Heroes (4:24)
Quiet intro with the drum beat of cool Brent Fitz and Slash gimmick reminiscent of those "Sweet Child o 'Mine," "Loving the Alien", "Superhuman," that his Les Paul with the Tone knob to 0. Verse with quiet chords, we feel that Slash uses his MXR Fuzz. The chorus is a bit more punchy. During the second verse, Slash is the picking. The solo is nice and punchy rather alternating fast and melodic parts.

Halo : 03:23
The heavy intro! Harmonized guitars and vocals reminiscent of Alice In Chains. The main riff is very heavy rock n 'roll. Myles Kennedy's voice is relatively high on the song. Big job rhythmic Todd and Brent on the song.
phasing effect on voice and guitar on the bridge. The solo is reminiscent of the kind of solo album "It's Five O 'Clock somewhere". The end of the song is well paced.
This song has a little something Snakepit.

We Will Roam (4:49)
Intro picking. Voice rather raised Myles. Catchy chorus. Still much work on the choruses.
The solo is reminiscent of Civil War (the second) by the time it is a tad too long!
A second very cool solo closing the song.
Title friendly without more.

Anastasia (6:07)
THE SONG epic album that will delight all guitar freaks! Nice intro on a classical guitar riff followed by the famous neo-classical that Slash was doing before his solo Godfather
The riff that serves as a backbone to the song title reminds Obsession / Confession. The riff of the verse has something of "Locomotive."
The song is too epic Myles! Is just the first solo anthology and recalls the heyday of Guns.
We regret the end of the song ending solo / jam session

Not For Me (5:21)
Epic intro that leads to a calm verse guitar / vocals, whispered voice of limits Myles. The intensity rises gradually ... Big U.S. rock sound. Superb singing and choirs Todd Myles.

Beautiful solo reminiscent of "coma" at the beginning before going to something more conventional. Lot of work on the battery Brent Fitz
Second Slash solo voice in duet with Myles rises in intensity.
Song successful!

Bad Rain (3:46)
Intro battery Brent. Big guitar riff. Voice perfectly placed for Myles, sexy limits. Catchy chorus though. Choirs Todd Kerns "oh, oh, oh". Slash's riffs and arrangements are grooving to the song. Bridge to the wah. Break down after the solo with a guitar in her clean. The outro has a nice riff based on the main riff

Hard & Fast (3:02)
Larsen as an intro, here's the song that most resembles what was Slash on "Ain't Life Grand?". Great job on the chorus. Solo "in your face". It goes fast but it sends!
Just Rn'Fn'R!

Far And Away (5:14)
Nice intro arpeggios. His hot guitar very round and warm. Myles sings so asked. Here is the ballad of the album. Catchy chorus, this is the song that puts more value Myles. Nice solo by Slash. The song is getting stronger in the end to end in triumph on a final solo of Slash, Myles's voice rises very high before ending softly. A little too abruptly for that matter!
The ballad of the album pussycats. Special dedications to fans of "wonderful life / Watch Over You" by Alter Bridge.

Shots Fired (3:48)
Intro riff that begins on a murky before moving on something more rock n 'roll, the verse is basic, the tempo is sustained.
The chorus is catchy and the solo fast punchy well (one of the fastest on the album) !
The song ends with a touch creepy.
There are some aspects of Snakepit in this song.

Carolina (3:18) -bonus track-
Intro Talk box, groovy song that input. Groovy and catchy chorus though. One recognizes the influences of Stevie Wonder on Myles and Slash's love for rhythm & blues. The solo is done with talk box fuzz and octave. The drum break from Brent Fitz is amazing! The end solo is really excellent, stuffed full of feeling!
The song the more rhythmic, danceable album!

Crazy Life (3: 40) -Bonus Track-
Intro Joe Perry? Oh no sorry! Period Aerosmith song "Get a Grip"? "Eat the Rich" oh no it is Slash! Great groove! Catchy chorus with backing vocals of Todd Kerns. Myles really gimmicks Steven Tyler on this song, it's crazy!
The solo at the Joe Perry in testosterone is certainly one of the best of the album!
One of the catchiest songs of the album!

Bonus DVD 22 min The Deluxe edition of the album contains a bonus DVD includes a documentary on the making off of the album. One can see Slash and the band in the studio, interspersed with interviews (Images of webisodes with some more details ...) Of course, no subtitles in French ....


But what does it take out?
This album is primarily intended for fans of Rock. There is drinking and eating in this cake. And even if Slash himself said that this album is a more direct compared to the preceding one feels that he has done before any pleasure. Working and recording with the group that surrounds him now is for a real cure of well being and it feels in his music.

The songs are, nevertheless, varied with the final lot of songs for radio calibrated (U.S.).
With this album, Slash manages to assert solo by finding the perfect balance between fast songs rock n 'roll, ballads U.S. rock and mid-tempo. He can not deny his musical background (Guns / Snakepit / Velvet Revolver) as one feels at times the energy of these three groups on the disk.
To talk energy, we can clearly distinguish the side "live" recording and dynamics it brings to the disk; this little old school side so dear to the eyes of Slash who wants to do everything the old way.
Finally, we note the tremendous work with Myles on vocals and choruses with Todd Kerns who complement each other perfectly.

Personal feelings :
"Apocalyptic Love" marks the true return of Slash solo. His previous album was Gentillet with all guests, but difficult to know if Slash could finally lay still epic songs like the good old days!

This is a real band album, we recognize the paste Myles Kennedy on quiet songs.
I think that those who expect a new album Snakepit or Guns or even Velvet Revolver will be disappointed because it ' is different again.
Slash is no longer the same man since his solo. His playing is more sedate and less can be epic ... but with this album he shows he is still able to compose some beautiful moments of magic. My favorite tracks are "Anastasia," "Crazy Life", "Carolina", " Apocalyptic Love " solos that kill : "Anastasia," "Crazy Life", "Hard n 'Fast", "Shots Fired", "Not For Me" - Slash2baz -

Somos afortunados de tener el disco “Apocalyptic Love” una semana antes de su lanzamiento en Francia. Acá les dejamos nuestros sentimientos tema a tema del disco:

Apocalyptic Love (3:29).
El álbum arranca fuerte con este título muy copado. La guitarra y el wah wah decoran la introducción del tema con un riff del cual Slash sólo conoce su secreto. Las rítmicas son muy típicsa del hard rock –onda AC/DC-.
Los coros se sienten bien. Myles pone la base de un tema de rock la cual podría ser destilada. Los pequeños fraseos de Slash entre el verso y el estribillo son solamente increíbles! El puente de la canción, clamo y limpio deja ver la suavidad de la voz de Myles que da paso al solo el cual hace uso del wah wah de manera similar al del disco “Ain’t Life Grand”.
Una buena elección para apertura del disco, como un amanecer.

One Last Thrill (3:10)
La intro es como un recuerdo pálido de canciones de los Guns, sirenas sonando en las calles de L.A., esquinas oscuras, mujeres perdidas, los mismos chords, un rock n’ roll de tempo rápido, una canción donde Johnny Rotten es Myles… un camaleón, él canta completamente diferente en esta canción! Esta canción certeramente es la que más escencia punk tiene.

Standing in the Sun (4:04)
La intro lentamente aumenta en un riff parecido a “The Immigrant Song” de Zeppelin con un toque de “Locomotive”. Los coros están bien puestos y hecho. Él sólo agrega algo de un interesante color. El outro está realmente bien hecho con un solo de guitarra realmente armonizado.
El segundo single del disco definitivamente.

Slash "Apocalyptic Love" Review — 5 out of 5 stars

Like some kind of rock 'n' roll kaleidoscope, the album evinces the legendary guitarist at his best from all angles. There are soft and subdued moments. There's danger. There's mayhem. There's blues. There's shred. There's everything you could want from a rock record and more. That said—it's both an essential guitar album and a new classic for "R&Fn'R" at large. Apocalyptic Love is some of the man's most incendiary and infectious playing yet, and you're going to be knocked out by it.

A drum count-off leads right into a swaggering wah pedal lead at the beginning of the title track. Quickly, a stadium-size chorus from Myles Kennedy [Alter Bridge] rises in tandem with Slash's riffing and shredding. Theirs is an immortal partnership that instantly transfixes and transcends. Drummer Brent Fitz powers through a juggernaut of a beat, while Todd Kerns's bass roars like a freight train. During the bridge, Kennedy sounds inimitably soulful just before another fiery lead from Slash blazes up the night sky. That action all takes place in just the opening track mind you…

A guttural guitar sparks "One Last Thrill" before Kennedy rages through a rapid-fire verse reminiscent of Motörhead's best beatdowns. It's a speed demon firecracker of a song that's bound to get festivals shaking their asses along. Meanwhile, "Standing in the Sun" is a towering rocker that's heavy on groove and Alice in Chains-esque harmonies from Kennedy. Let's not forget the face-melting solo. At the same time, "No More Heroes" gives everyone space to shine. "We Will Roam" shimmies from a bluesy intro into a metallic charge at the right moment. It feels like it should've been ripped right from Easy Rider. You might want to hit the highway the second you hear it.

One standout, "Anastasia", starts with elegant classical guitar, slowly opening the curtain for the drama to come. Quickly, orchestral tapping culminates on another vivid journey driven by the guitars, drums, bass, and Kennedy's impeccable wail. Equally cinematic is "Far and Away". It's one of Slash's most beautiful compositions ever. Kennedy sounds utterly divine, painting a picture of longing and love lost. "Shots Fired" simply destroys while the bonus track "Crazy Life" is the ultimate rock anthem.

People claim rock is dead. However, every note of Apocalyptic Love stands as proof that it's alive and kicking. It belongs up there with the best of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver. Guys like Slash and Myles Kennedy carry a torch from Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Randy Rhoads, and all the other greats. It's burning as brightly as ever too.

Yo solo escuche hasta Halo, el ultimo tema que desbloqueó el Negro.

Me sigo aguantando.

No te preocupes, yo tampoco escuche mas alla de Halo. Espero a tenerlo el sabado ya.

El single del Album. Intro con chords, base ritmica, un pequeño riff que puede hacernos acordar a "Ghost". Increibles coros de Todd Kerns sobre Myles Kennedy. Lindo solo por Slash. El riff principal entra dentro de los grandes riff que ha tenido antes Velvet Revolver (Slither, She builds Quick Machines).

No More Heroes (4:24)


Tranquilo comienzo con una linda entrada de bateria de la mano de Brent Fitz sumandose Slash con algo que podria recordarnos a "Sweet Child O' Mine", "Loving The alien", "Superhuman", ese tono que solo logra con la Les Paul. Estribillo con acordes tranquilos, hechos con su nuevo pedal MXR Fuzz. Los coros son un poquito mas punchys. El solo es muy bueno alternando sonidos rapidos y melodicos.

Halo : 03:23

Una intro Heavy! Voces y acordes que nos recuerdan a Alice In Chains. El riff principal es puro rock and roll. La voz de Myles tiene tonos muy altos en la canción. Gran trabajo rítimico de Todd y Brent en la canción.
El solo nos recuerda a canciones del album "It's Five O' Clock Somewhere". Este tema tiene cosas de Snakepit.

We Will Roam (4:49)

Intro con un punteo. Coros pegadisos. Se nota muchisimo trabajo sobre los coros. El solo nos hace recordar a Civil War (el segundo), el ultimo que cierra la cancion es muy copado.
Un titulo amistoso!.

Anastasia (6:07)

La cancion EPICA del album que va a deleitar a todos los amantes de la guitarra. Linda intro seguida del clasico riff de guitarra neo-clasico que slash venia haciendo durante su solo de "El Padrino" durante la gira pasada. El riff que lleva atras la cancion nos recuerda a Obsession / Confession.
El riff del coro tiene algo de "Locomotive"
La cancion es epica para Myles! nos recuerda a aquellos tiempos de Guns.

Not For Me (5:21)

Epica Intro liderada por una calma guitarra y voces, casi susurrante la voz de Myles. La intensidad sube gradualmente. Gran sonido de rock de U.S.
Hermoso solo, tal vez nos hace recordar a "Coma" al principio antes de entrar en la parte convencional. GIGANTE trabajo de bateria de Brent Fitz.
El segundo solo de slash va en duo con la voz de Myles.
Exitosa cancion!

Bad Rain (3:46)


Intro con la bateria de Brent. Gran riff. La voz perfectamente ajustada para el tono de Myles, limites sexys. Tiene coros pegadisos. Los arreglos de slash van apareciendo durante toda la cancion, creando un puente para el wah. El solo outro tiene un lindo riff basado en el principal.

Hard & Fast (3:02)

Aqui esta la cancion que mas nos recuerda a lo que era Slash en "Ain't Life Grand?". Genial trabajo en los coros. Un solo "In your face" (en tu cara!). Rapido pero genial. Simplemente Rn'Fn'R!.

Far And Away (5:14)

Linda intro con arpegios. Un sonido de guitarra muy calido. Aca tenemos la balada del album. Coros pegadisos, creo que es la cancion donde mas valor agrega Myles. Lindo solo de Slash. La cancion se pone mas fuerte hacia el final terminando con un solo de slash. La voz de Myles se vuelve muy fuerte hasta terminar muy suave. Un poco abrupto diriamos. Una dedicacion especial a los fans de "Wonderful Life / Watch Over You" de Alter Bridge.

Shots Fired (3:48)

Un riff que empieza un tanto tranquilo moviendose al rock n 'roll, tiene un tempo sostenido.
Los coros son pegadisos, y el solo es uno de los mas rapidos del disco!. La cancion termina con un toque creepy!. Hay algunos aspectos de Snakepit en este tema.

Carolina (3:18) -bonus track-

Intro con Talk Box, una cancion un tanto groovy con buenos coros. Uno puede reconocer las influencias de Stevie Wonder en Myles y el amor de Slash por el Blues. El solo esta hecho con el Talk Box Fuzz & Octave. La bateria de Brent es increible!, y el solo final increible, lleno de emoción.

Crazy Life (3: 40) -Bonus Track-

Intro de Joe Perry?. Ah no! Perdon!. Cancion de Get a Grip? "Eat The Rich", No! perdon! es Slash!. Gran canción!. Coros increibles hechos por Todd. Myles realmente juega de Steven Tyler en esta cancion, es muy loco!.
El solo a la testosterona de Joe Perry es definitivamente uno de los mejores del album!. Una de las canciones mas pegadisas del disco!

repito y no me canso , gran disco! la tenes adentro!

Como un Kaleidoscopio de rock and roll, el album abarca lo mejor de Slash desde todos los angulos. Hay momentos suaves y otros fuertes. Hay peligro. Hay violencia. Hay Blues. Esta todo lo que quisieas tener en un disco de rock y aun más. Es un album escenial en cuantoa guitarras y un nuevo clasico para el R'nf'r. Apocalyptic love es increible y vas a ser knockeado por él!.

Unas baterias pesadas lideran junto a un pedal wah el principio de la cancion que titula al album. Rapidamente las voces de Myles Kennedy comienzan a aparecer acompañando a Slash con su riff. Hay como una especie de amistad inmortal que se hace notar enseguida. El baterista Brent Fitz hace su excelente trabajo mientras que Todd Kerns ruge como un tren de carga!. Durante el puente, Kennedy suena tan profundo justo antes de que Slash alcance el cielo con sus notas.

Las guitarras brillan en "One Last Thrill" mientras que Kennedy ruge un rapido estribillo que nos recuerda a los mejores temas de Motorhead. Es un demonio a toda velocidad que nos pateara el culo en todos los festivales que la escuchemos!. Mientras tanto, "Standing in the Sun" es un tema del disco que nos recuerda a las epocas de Alice in Chains, con una gran armonia lograda por parte de Kennedy. No nos olvidemos del gran solo que tiene el tema.
Al mismo tiempo, "No More Heroes" le da a todos el espacio para brillar. "We Will Roam" va desde una intro con toques bluseros a tener una carga metallica en el momento justo. Vas a querer estar en la autopista a toda velocidad al segundo de haberla escuchado!.

La más destacada, "Anastasia". Comienza con una elegante guitarra en un tono clasico, como abriendo el telon al drama que esta por venir. Rapidamente, un tapping semi orquestal culmina con otra cancion liderada por las guitarras, baterias, bajos, y la impecable voz de Myles. "Far and Away" es una de las composiciones mas bellas logradas por Slash. Kennedy suena realmente divino, pintando una pintura de un amor eterno y perdido. "Shots Fired" simplemente rompe con todos los parametros mientras que el bonus track "Crazy Life" es el ultimo himno al rock and roll.

La gente reclama que el rock murió. De todas formas, cada nota de Apocalyptic Love demuestra y prueba que esta vivo y pateando!. Una mezcla perfecta de Guns And Roses y Velvet Revolver. Tipos como Slash y Myles Kennedy continuan y cargan con la antorcha de Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Randy Rhoads, y todos los demas grandes. Es tan brillante como ardiente.
